I had wanted this polish for SO LONG. This was one of the first Holo Taco polishes that I EVER wanted to pick up. Sadly for me, it sold out sooner than I could grab it. I have been keeping an eye on ebay and Facebook destash groups in hopes of picking up a bottle without breaking the bank.
I was super fortunate and a wonderful person named Alicia offered to give me her bottle since she wasn’t a fan. Like WHAT? *inserts surprised Pikachu face* I couldn’t believe my luck. So this blog post is dedicated to Alicia so be sure to check out their Instagram for some nail art inspo!
Existential Crisis
Existential Crisis had a fantastic formula. It was on the thicker side but I find Holo Taco glitters tend to be on the thicker side in general. Application was perfect. The glitters do seem to give this polish some texture but they are super holographic!
This polish is in a dark blue leaning teal jelly base so it does start off fairly sheer. I had a moment of panic when I realized that I was going to need to apply a third coat to deepen the base a bit. I don’t know why but I already don’t want to use this polish up. I do think the polish benefits from a third coat but if you have super short nails, you might be ok in 2 coats.
The shimmer effect has a copper, gold to green color shift. Man, I wish this brand would release more polishes like this. This is the kind of polish that I can never get tired of. Cristine if you ever read this, PLEASE RELEASE MORE POLISHES LIKE THIS!!
My photos show Existential Crisis in 3 coats plus 2 coats of glossy top coat. I thankfully didn’t experience any staining with this polish. I soaked this off with no issues but the glitters will be difficult if you for some reason scrub them off.
Sale Information
As I mentioned, this polish is no longer available to purchase. I’ll leave the Holo Taco links down here anyway in case you want to shop the brand. Thank you again to Alicia for sending me this, check out their Instagram account over here
