Hey friends! Today I am sharing some of the items coming to the September Hella Handmade Creations. Is this month just going by really quickly for anyone else?

Hella Handmade Creations is a monthly indie polish collaboration. Makers each pick their own theme and make a series of polishes based on that theme. Each month brands have a new polish, that is exclusive to the Hella Handmade Creations website.
All Mixed Up Lacquers – WTH Is A Radar Phone
Theme: 80’s Rock Bands
Description: a light olive sage base with red shifting shimmer and scattered holo flakes, UCC flakies, and red metallic flakes.
Price: $12.50 for 15ml | Cap: 150
WTH Is A Radar Phone had a fantastic formula. This polish has a ton of flakies, but the base didn’t feel overly thick. All of the flakies spread out very evenly and easily. The red metallic ones act similar to glitter shreds but they also spread out evenly without needing to do anything special.
The red metallic flakies might give off some texture depending on how they lay on the nail. I ended up tapping the flakes down before I went in with a thick coat of top coat and that seemed to do a pretty good job at smoothing them out. However, I do think that this polish would benefit from a glitter smoothing top coat or just doubling up on top coat vs doing 1 really thick layer of top coat.
My photos show WTH Is A Radar Phone in 3 coats plus glossy top coat. If you have very short nails, this might be passable in 2 coats. I think for personal wear I would this one in 2 coats. The third coat does deepen the base color as well as make this completely opaque.

Bee’s Knees Lacquer – Baby Bunny On The Hill
Theme: Demon Slayer
Inspiration: Nezuko
Description: a mid-toned green with glowy pink to green shimmer Because of the type of shimmer, you may see some small speckles of pigment
Price: $12 for 15ml | Cap: None
Baby Bunny On The Hill had fantastic formula. This polish is pretty sheer, even when built up in 3 coats. So to get the most opacity you will really want to build it up to get the most out of the base color.
Alternatively, I think this one will work really well as a topper. Over darker colors, the shimmer is going to look amazing. I will say though, that I really do like the shimmer colors paired with the base on this one.
My photos show Baby Bunny On The Hill in 3 coats plus glossy top coat. Nothing in here dried down textured nor will it be difficult to remove.

Crystal Knockout – Green Eyes Watch
Theme: Habitat of the Cat
Inspiration: the black panther in its native jungle kingdom
Description: a black jelly with iridescent color-shifting flakies in green, orange, gold, and turquoise, with silver reflective glitter running throughout.
Price: $12 for 15ml | Cap: None
Green Eyes Watch had a really great jelly formula. It was a little bit on the thicker side but you know, this polis has a lot of reflective glitters so the thickness wasn’t at all surprising.
Since this one is in a jelly base, you will want to build it up to reach the most opacity. I did have VNL with it in 3 coats but between the flakies and the reflective glitter, those do distract from your nail line quite a bit.
The reflective glitters do give this polish quite a bit of texture so you will want to double up on your top coat to smooth this one out. I paired it with a glitter smoothing top coat before going in with my quick dry top coat. That combo smoothed it out perfectly.
My photos show Green Eyes Watch in 3 coats plus 2 coats of top coat. Removal will be very difficult if you opt to scrub this polish off. I used a peel off base coat but the soak off method will also give you an easy removal.

Heather’s Hues – WiTS in Mr Cupcake
Scent Description: a blend of sweet vanilla cream, gooey caramel, and rich milk chocolate
Price: $7 for 2 ounces | Cap: 50
Y’all know that I ride hard for this lotion so I will spare you another month of me raving about this product.
This month’s scent is very creamy, a little sweet with some notes of what made me think “nutty”. I wasn’t really picking up the caramel notes but the chocolate scent doesn’t smell like fake chocolate to me. I will take slightly nutty over fake chocolate any day

Music City Beauty – Coat Of Many Colors
Theme: Dolly Parton
Description: a full coverage microglitter full of red, pink, violet, gold and turquoise holo microglitters and silver reflective glitter
Price: $13.50 for 15ml | Cap: 10
Coat Of Many Colors had a good but very thick formula. I did not have any problems with application but this was very very thick. It was also next level sparkly! This brand packed this one with like the maximum amount of glitter and I am loving it!
It was raining pretty heavily the day I swatched this one so I wasn’t able to get it out in the sunlight. I did tweak my lighting on photo #5 to better show the holographic and reflective glitters. This will look bananas out in the sun.
I will say the glitters are both pretty textured as well as top coat hungry. I ended up needing 3 coats of top coat to completely smooth this polish out. Do not even think about removing this polish in any way but the soak off method or a peel off base coat. Don’t do that to yourself, please.
Muy photos show Coat Of Many Colors in 2 coats plus 3 coats of top coat. I do think this will be a 1-2 coater depending on your nail length.

Night Owl Lacquer – Sexy Squash
Series: Gilmore Girls (new)
Inspiration: Patty and Babbette’s discussion about the farmer’s market’s sexy squash.
Description: a pumpkin orange jelly filled with orange/copper/gold/green crystal chameleon flakes and orange holographic glitters
Price: $12.60 for 15ml | Cap: None
Sexy Squash had a fantastic formula. The base felt just slightly on the thicker side but I didn’t have any application issues. This polish just screams all things Falloween to me so clearly I love! The base is a bit on the sheer side so you will want to build it up for opacity.
The flakies in here all spread out very evenly and easily. They didn’t feel textured to me BUT for long term wear this might benefit from a glitter smoothing top coat. For my photos, I just went in with one thick coat of the Night Owl Lacquer top coat.
My photos show Sexy Squash in 3 coats plus glossy top coat. Shorter nails might be ok in 2 coats but the third coat does deepen the base color. Removal won’t be too bad if you scrub this off.

Pretty Beautiful Unlimited – White Wolf
Theme: The Witcher
Description: a lightly tinted gray base with gold metallic pigment, black reflective glitter, orange/pink/gold crystal chameleon flakies & a sprinkling of white glitters.
Price: $13 for 15ml | Cap: 150
White Wolf had a fantastic formula. I found the base didn’t feel thick at all despite having a lot going on in it. I feel like this polish is particularly unique to my collection as I don’t usually see glitters mixed with magnetic pigments very often!
This polish magnetized very easily for me. I used a ring magnet for my swatches and my live swatch shows this polish magnetized using a bar magnet.
I didn’t realize when I was swatching this polish that if had reflective glitters so I can’t really speak on how those look. This polish does dry dow with some texture so depending on personal preference, you might want 1-2 coats of top coat
My photos show White Wolf in 3 coats. This polish was opaque on me in 2 coats but I used the third coat to magnetize. Removal will be on the more difficult side if you decide to scrub this polish off.

Sassy Sauce Polish – A wing and a prayer
Theme: Butterflies
Description: An ocean blue jelly base with a pinky purple shimmer, blue/purple ghost flakes and sparkly micro glitters
Price: $13 for 15ml | Cap: 125
A wing and a prayer had a wonderful formula. The polish felt just slightly on the thicker side but I found application very easy. This polish has a ton of sparkle in it!
The flakies and glitters all spread out very evenly and easily. They do give off some texture so depending on preference, you might want to double up on top coat. And yes, I did get out a few larger flakies on the nail!
The combination of the base, shimmer, glitter and flakies make this polish look really stunning. I think it will look really great with a matte top coat as well.
My photos show A wing and a prayer in 3 coats plus 2 coats of top coat. Removal will be on the more difficult side, I would suggest scrubbing this one off.
