Bee’s Knees Lacquer – To Hell with Good Intentions
Theme: Ice Nine Kills
Inspiration: the song Hip To Be Scared
Description: a medium-toned purple with extra sparkly red to green shimmer

To Hell with Good Intentions had an amazing jelly formula. Based on the bottle, I wasn’t sure on how I was going to like this one. The shimmer effect definitely got me to love it though.
The base color is a warmer medium purple, that looks even warmer thanks to that shimmer. I did find that I wasn’t seeing the green color shift on my nails. In person, I was seeing a red to orangey/gold color shift. It was beautiful and so sparkly.
Because this polish is in a jelly base, you do need to build it up to gain opacity. Coverage is even so this could be used as a topper over some shades, as long as you don’t mind your base color being changed due to the purple base.
My photos show To Hell With Good Intentions in 3 coats plus glossy top coat. Longer nails will have some VNL after 3 coats. Nothing in here dries textured but you will want top coat for a glossy finish. I didn’t experience any staining with this one but make sure to wear base coat.

Crystal Knockout – The Wind Whispers
Inspiration: the sunny desert home of the Sand Cat
Description: A base of strong shifting golden-green shimmer with iridescent orange-red flakes and red-gold micro flakies with a tiny bit of holographic sparkle
Price: $12.50 for 15ml | Cap: None
The Wind Whispers had a great but thicker formula. I loved how sheer this polish is but to gain opacity, you will need to build this one up. You won’t reach full opacity with it but the shimmer gets super strong and glowy with each coat!
The flakies are on the larger side and I did find that sometimes the flakes stuck off the ends of my nails. Those larger flakies do not dry down textured and spread out very evenly.
I personally really liked this polish in 2 coats but I did use 3 coats for my photos.

Heather’s Hues – Dead Heat
Theme: favorite car paint jobs
Inspiration: McLaren P1
Description: a fire red jelly filled with red to orange shifting aurora pigment and orange to gold microflakes
Price: $13 for 15ml | Cap: None
Dead Heat had a fantastic formula. The base felt on the thicker side but not so think that I needed to add thinner or make it difficult to use.
As someone who does not like red polish, I was so in love with this one on my nails! Think, I didn’t want to take it off so in love. The shimmer does make this one pull a lot more orangey than the base actually is. If you are like me and have warm undertones, your hands will pull very warm/orange depending on the lighting.
The shimmer paired with the microflakies gives it an orangey golden glow. Like this looked amazing in every light source.
My photos show Dead Heat in 2 coats plus glossy top coat. Longer nails will likely need a third coat to cover up any VNL.
Heather’s Hues WiTS in Cotton Candy
Inspiration: Theme: Little Trees car air fresheners!
Description: spun sugar, strawberry and raspberry, and hints of vanilla and caramel

This month’s scent is an enigma to me. I couldn’t actually smell a thing from the jar but my husband, who can never smell anything, was able to pick up a sweet and slightly fruity scent.

Night Owl Lacquer – People Are Particularly Stupid Today
Theme: Gilmore Girls
Description: a clear base filled with charcoal micro flakies, cyan/periwinkle/violet/fuchsia iridescent flakes and holographic flecks.

People Are Particularly Stupid Today had a fantastic but thicker formula. It was around the thickness that I expect for a flakie dense polish.
The flakie combination makes it seem like the base color is actually a grey shade. Because of that, I don’t know how great this will be as a topper but it might work depending on your base color.
Personally, I love this one all on its own. Nothing dried down textured. Sadly, it was fairly overcast the day I was swatching this one so I can’t speak on the holographic strength but I was able to see some twinkles in my indoor lighting.
