Hey friends! It’s that time of the month again for Hella Handmade Creations! This month I have a few new-to-the-blog brands to share with you all as well as some amazing polishes! A few of the brands even have new series this month. The HHC shop opens July 14th and as always, links and sale details will be at the end of the post.
Hella Handmade Creations is a monthly indie polish collaboration. Makers each pick their own theme and make a series of polishes based on that theme. Each month brands have a new polish, that is exclusive to the Hella Handmade Creations website.

Alter Ego – Her Majesty Bearded Iris
Theme: Bearded Iris
Description: You decide if you see pink, lavender or lilac with a heavy white shimmer and micro fucshia metallic glitter
Price: $10 for 17ml Cap: None
Her Majesty had a great formula. The color I was seeing in person is a pinky lavender type of shade with a high shimmer/metallic finish. This applied wonderfully and was really difficult to photograph as it looks like a different color depending on light source.
The glitters do not dry textured at all. This will be opaque in 2-3 coats depending on preference. I used 3 coats for my photos.

BCB Lacquers – Electra
Inspiration/Theme: Galaxy
Description: A teal polish with a blue/green shifting shimmer and micro flakes(can also pick up hints of pink as well at certain angles) and a touch of holo Price: $13.00 for 16.5ml Cap: 100
Electra had a great formula. It felt somewhere between a crelly and a creme formula. The shimmer is very strong and color shifty despite this being a very opaque polish.
This will be opaque in 1-2 coats depending on application and nail length. Nothing in here dried textured but you will want top coat for a glossy finish.

Bee’s Knees Lacquer – Meteorite
Theme: Ghost Adventures
Description: a pale gray polish with glowy green shimmer and loaded with holo flakes,
Price: $13 for 15ml Cap: None
Meteorite had a great formula. It applied very evenly and had a great consistency. The shimmer is very strong and glowy! This is also very holographic. The holo flakies spread out evenly and easily without giving off any texture.
This will be opaque in 2-3 coats. If you don’t have much of a free edge, you will be good in 2 coats. If you have visible nail line, you probably want to go in for 3 coats.
This polish is very similar to some of the grey flakie polishes this brand has released the past few months. The biggest difference between all of them is that the shimmer is different. I’ll have comparisons at the end of the post.

Chirality Polish – Fangs for the Memories
Inspiration/Theme: Fangtooth fish/Aliens of The Deep series
Description: Sheer pitch black polish engulfed with holo flakes and sparkling green shimmer. Buildable to wear on its own. Alternatively, layer over another shade for an instant vampy effect.
Price $12 for 15ml Cap 100
Fangs For The Memories had a nice jelly formula. It didn’t feel overly think or thin. The green shimmer paired with this base gives the polish an almost swampy/murky green look.
It is fairly sheer on its own so I decided to try this one as a topper. I swatched this in 1 coat over Heather’s Hues Rudenja which is a cerise creme (reviewed here). As a topper, this gives polishes a real vampy look which I really liked. On my ring finger I swatched in it 3 coats on its own. I found this way the shimmer shines through more and you get that swampy look that I mentioned. Finally on my thumb, I swatched this in 1 coat over Heather’s Hues Shadow.
Removal will be fairly easy as nothing in here dried textured.

Color Spectrum Polish – One Love
Inspiration: Bob Marley (new series!)
Description: a black base with a rose red shimmer, shifts of gold, pink to green to gold ucc flakies, and silver holo glitters.
Price: $12 for 13ml Cap: 100
One Love had a great formula. It felt slightly on the thicker side but I didn’t have any application issues. The shimmer is very strong and color shifty. Black bases with shifty shimmer and flakies has become a favorite for me and this was no exception! The silver holographic glitters gave this a really nice sparkle.
This one builds up nicely in 3 coats. You can get pretty much the same look (minus the layered flakie effect) with 1 coat over a black creme. Nothing in here dried textured or will be overly difficult to remove.

Heather’s Hues – Does She Remember Me?
Theme: Handmaid’s Tale
Description: a blue crelly base with small neon green, yellow, and pink glitters, blue metallic microflakes, and iridescent pink-red-gold flakes.
Price: $12.50 for 15ml Cap: None
Does She Remember Me? also had a great crelly formula. This is a very bright blue base but not a neon. The neon glitters really pop and steal the show from the iridescent flakies and the microflakies. The microflakies do give this a shimmer look though.
This will be opaque in 2-3 coats depending on preference. It was opaque on me in 2 coats but I wanted to layer on more glitters so I used 3 coats for my photos. This doesn’t dry textured but the neon glitters might give you some trouble during removal. I soaked this off with no problems. I also didn’t experience any staining.

LynB Designs – Glamour Goose
Theme: Animal Magnetism (new series!)
Description: a black based magnetic with green to gold to red shifting magnetic flakies and tons of holo flakies.
Price: $13 for 15ml Cap: 250
Glamour Goose had a really great formula. It didn’t feel overly thick or thin and I didn’t have any application issues. This polish is on the more sheer side so either you will want to build it up with thicker coats or wear it as a topper. I tend to favor magnetic polishes like this as toppers but that’s just me.
So for this polish, I applied 2 coats normally and then magnetized the third coat. Since this is on the sheer side, if you magnetize each coat it will appear more sheer. The magnetic effect is very cool and color shifty. I got to wear this for 2 days and I was staring at my nails the whole time.
As a topper, I used this in 1 coat over black (Heather’s Hues Shadow). In hindsight, I think this would have looked better (as a topper) if I had used 2 coats. 1 coat applied normally and then 1 coat magnetized.

Music City Beauty – Shallow
Theme/Inspiration: Lady Gaga
Description: a light purple scattered holographic
Price: $11.50 for 15ml Cap: 100
Shallow had a great formula. Not too thick or too thin. This applies like a creme polish sp it does self level really well. The light purple base leans a tiny bit periwinkle in my opinion. The holographic is very delicate. It’s similar to last month’s polish (reviewed here) but the holographic stands out more in this month’s polish.
This will be a opaque in 2 to 3 coats depending on application and potentially nail length. I had a few light spots so I went in 3 coats. Nothing in here dries textured or will be difficult to remove. I didn’t have any issues with staining.

Red Eyed Lacquer – You Are Your Best Self
Theme: Eric Carle/Inspo: The Mixed Up Chameleon
Description: White crelly with red/gold/green shifting shimmer, Green/gold, purple red golden, and orange/pink/gold shifting flakies and scattered holo flakies.
Price: $12.50 for 13ml Cap: 100 cap
You Are Your Best Self had a great formula. The white base goes on really nicely but I did notice if you overwork it, you will cause light spots. The shimmer is similar to unicorn pee in color shifts.The flakies in this spread out nicely on their own without needing to do anything special.
This is a beautiful delicate almost bridal looking polish. Depending on application, this could be a 2 coater on shorter nails. I think it will likely be a solid 3 coater though. I used 3 coats for my photos.

Sassy Cats Lacquer – Do It With Passion!
Theme: 2020 Playlists
Description: a red shifty polish with aurora shimmer that shifts red orange gold
Price: $13 for 15ml Cap: 100
Do It With Passion! had a great jelly like formula. It applied really evenly and easily. It also didn’t feel overly thick or thin. The red base is on the sheer side so you will want to build it up in 3 coats for the most opacity.
The shimmer is strong but more on the subtle side. Not so subtle that at arm’s length this looks like a creme but it’s not an in your face shimmer. The color shift is also on the subtle side.
This will be 90% opaque on its own in 3 coats. I also swatched it in 2 coats over a VNL blurring base coat. Over the blurring base, this looks more like a creme so I prefer it without the special base.

Swamp Gloss – Outlaw Country!
Inspiration: Archer Vice
Description: A white GITD crelly with matte hexes and dots
Price: $12.50 for 15ml Cap: 200
Outlaw Country! had a great formula. It starts off on the more sheer side but builds up nicely. The glitters spread out evenly and easily on their own. I did hold the bottle upside down between coats but I don’t think that it was really necessary.
I charged the glow in the dark pigment in this polish will my blacklight/uv flashlight. It didn’t take very much to get this one to glow. Natural sunlight should also charge this up nicely.
Like what seems to be all of the Swamp Gloss glitter polishes, this did not dry down super textured at all. I only needed 1 coat of top coat to completely smooth this out. I used 3 coats for my photos.

The Hella Handmade Creations store opens on the 14th of every month at 12:01am Eastern Time and closes on the 21st at 11:59pm HST (4:59AM Eastern time on the 22nd). All items sold are on a pre-order basis and won’t ship until around 4 weeks after the sale period.

Comparisons
Meteorite is the sister polish to several polishes from the Bee’s Knees Lacquer Resident Evil Village collection as well as to Keep Reaching Out Your Hand from Bee’s Knees Lacquer A Court of Silver Flames Part 1. It’s not a dupe for any of those polishes but it is similar but with different color shimmer.
