Bee’s Knees Lacquer – Then Do Not Spend Your Life Exhausted
Inspiration/Theme: the book Belladonna
Description: a silver polish that shifts from red to green with a scattering of matte black flakes and holo flakes. It also glows in the dark!

Then Do Not Spend Your Life Exhausted whenever BKL releases a nail polish with a whole lot of flakies, I do a little happy dance. I feel like this brand is most well known for its shimmers but in my not-so-humble opinion, their polishes with flakies AND shimmer are where it’s at!
This polish had a fantastic formula, it is pretty sheer though so you do need to build it up to get the most opacity. I personally really liked coverage for this polish in two coats but opted to add an extra coat to give the GITD pigment the most oomph.
Speaking of the glow in the dark aspect, I found it to be a little finicky. I charge it up using my go-to blacklight flashlight and while it does charge up brightly it does also seem to fade in brightness quickly. I did give the brand a headsup on the GITD pigment so hopefully that won’t be an issue for customer bottles.
I wasn’t a big fan of the glow in the dark aspect of this polish but the shimmer and flakie combo I was a huge fan of! I don’t know if I loved the black flakies or the holographic ones more but either way I loved how this looked.
My photos show Then Do Not Spend Your Life Exhausted in 3 coats plus glossy top coat. I think it might have some topper possibilities but I will call it a 2-3 coater depending on your own personal preference. Removal won’t super difficult but it sure will be messy, use the soak off method!
