Heather’s Hues September 2022 Duo

[Press Samples]

Fall is in the air and I am LOVING IT!! Ok I wasn’t loving it when I woke up this morning and it was in the 40s but everything else? I am loving. So today I have the newest monthly duo from Heather’s Hues. For September Heather asked members of her Fan group to submit photos based on Fall. The polishes I am sharing are inspired by those photos.

These are both available right now on the Heather’s Hues website. And as always, I will have links and sale details at the end of the post.

Heather’s Hues is a US based indie brand. Their polishes are in 15ml bottles, 5 free, cruelty free and vegan friendly.

Autumn Escape

Description: a pumpkin orange base filled with a mix of iridescent and multichrome flakes as well as a variety of glitters, all in fall colors

Autumn Escape had a fantastic formula. I LOVE the base color on this polish! It starts off a little sheer but builds up really nicely.

All of the glitters and flakes in here spread out very evenly with very minimal texture. For my swatches, I opted to just up one thicker coat of top coat to smooth it out. I do thinking potentially, this might benefit from either a second coat of top coat or even a glitter smoothing top coat.

When I saw spoilers for these in the Heather’s Hues Facebook group, I knew immediately that this was going to be my favorite from this month’s duo. The base paired with the glitters and flakies is just so perfect for fall.

My photos show Autumn Escape in 3 coats plus both glossy and matte top coats. Removal is going to be a little tricky from the glitters, soak this one off or use a peel off base coat.

Fall-ow Me

Description: a deep red jelly filled with a mix of black holo glitters, black matte glitters, iridescent glitters, and black to red and blue to red multichrome flakes

Fall-ow Me had a fantastic formula. Since this one is in a jelly base, you will want to build it up to get the most opacity. I did still have some VNL with this polish in 3 coats, both on the clear part of my nail as well as on my natural nail. But the flakies and glitters do a nice job at distracting from VNL.

I also did find that in 3 coats, the polish wasn’t quite as dark on the nail as I was seeing in the bottle. It was still a deep rich red but not quite as dark as in the bottle.

I loved how the dark flakies and glitters gave this polish just an extra oomph of vampiness. For my swatches, I did opt to go in for a thicker coat of glossy top coat to smooth them out. For longer wear, you might want to double up on top coat.

My photos show Fall-ow Me in 3 coats plus both glossy and matte top coats. This polish does dry down fairly flat so you will want top coat to give it a glossy finish. Removal wil be a pain in the butt if you decide to scrub this one off.

Final Thoughts

If it wasn’t completely obvious, I freaking loved both of these polishes! I knew long before getting Autumn Escape on my nails that it was going to be my favorite from this duo. I am not generally a red polish lover and lately, I have been really digging oranges.
