Heather’s Hues September 2021 Duo

[Press Samples – Post Disclosure Page]

Hey friends! Today’s post is for the newest monthly duo by Heather’s Hues. In case you are new, each month Heather asks members of her Facebook group to submit and vote on photos, following a chosen theme. Heather then creates polishes based on that theme. For September, the theme is Autumn.

This duo is a available right now on the Heather’s Hues website. As always, I will have links and sale details at the end of the post.

Starting this month, I am going to start trying to do more comparisons within the brand for these polishes. If you didn’t already know, Heather’s Hues is my most owned indie brand. Heather is really good at not releasing dupes but I kinda like having an excuse for digging through my stash.

Heather’s Hues is a US based indie brand. Their polishes are handmade, 5 free, vegan and cruelty free.

Autumn Aesthetic

Description: a deep peacock base filled with an orange to gold shimmer, a mix of multichrome flakes in red-copper-gold and teal-cyan-blue-violet, and a touch of teal and orange glitters and microshreds

Autumn Aesthetic had a wonderful jelly formula. The shimmer looked beautiful paired with this base color! The various components all spread out very nicely without needing to do anything special. My bottle was a little bit on the thick side so I did add a little bit of thinner to it.

I used 3 coats for my photos. In 2 coats you get pretty good coverage but it wasn’t quite as dark as the polish looks in the bottle. I didn’t experience any staining with this polish but I would still recommend base coat to prevent staining. As per usual, I used the Heather’s Hues 1st Base base coat.

‘Leaf’ It to Me

Description: a deep mulberry jelly packed with a mix of iridescent and multichrome flakes and a hint of glitters in golds, orange, pink, blue, violet, teal, and green

‘Leaf’ It to Me also had a great formula. The flakes and glitters all spread out evenly and easily. The base color is a reddish toned purple, mulberry is honestly the best color to describe it as.

This polish will also be a 3 coater. It had even coverage in 2 coats but it wasn’t quite the color I was seeing in the bottle. The flakies in this do not dry textured so I used 1 coat of top coat for my photos. I didn’t experience any staining. Removal will be typical flakie polish removal.

Comparisons

Autumn Aesthetic vs Candied Apples

Candied Apples was one of the polishes in the November 2021 Duo (reviewed here)

‘Leaf’ It to Me

The most similar purple flakie that I have a swatch for by this brand is The Midnight Society (April 2021 PPU reviewed here). These aren’t really similar but I thought since they’re both purple with flakies, I could compare them.

Bottle Comparisons

I also thought to do some bottle comparisons since a large part of my HH collection is from before I started my blog. Here I compared Autumn Aesthetic with Crash Into Me (July 2020 Duo reviewed here) and Sun Up (March 2019).
