Heather’s Hues November 2021 Duo

[Press Samples – Post Disclosure Page]

Hey guys! I have another fantastic duo by Heather’s Hues to share with you all today. In case you are new, each month Heather asks members of her Facebook group to submit and vote on photos, following a chosen theme. Heather then creates polishes based on that theme. For November, the theme is These Are a Few of My Favorite Things.

This duo is available right now on the Heather’s Hues website. As always, I will have links and sale details at the end of the post. Since I am feeling like literal death warmed over, the comparisons this month will be in the live swatch video.

Heather’s Hues is a US based indie brand. Their polishes are handmade, 5 free, vegan and cruelty free.

Must Be the Weather

Description: a pale blue crelly filled with a mix of metallic, matte and holo glitters and microshreds in blue, orange, copper, and brown
Price: $12.50

Must Be the Weather had a fantastic crelly formula. The glitters all spread out even easily on their own without needing to do anything special. One thing I will always say about Heather’s crelly is that I never have to hold a bottle upside down to get all of the glitters out on the nail.

This polish doesn’t dry overly textured but since it has SO much glitter in it, I did pair it with the Colores De Carol smoothing top coat before going in with my usual quick dry top coat. Whether or not you will want to use 1 or 2 coats of top coat will be completely up to you. I personally thought it looked best with a glitter eating top coat.

Removal for this polish will be on the difficult side due to all of the glitters. I would suggest pairing this with a peel off base coat or soaking it off for the easiest removal process. Click here for my blog post on how to remove glitter polishes the easy way.

Stay Glassy

Description: a sheer (but totally buildable) shimmer base that shifts from pink to gold and then is kissed with, well, everything but the kitchen sink…..copper holo, red-pink-gold iridescent flakes, pink holo glitters, pink crystal glitters, rose gold metallic flakes, and a mix of multichrome flakes in various shades of pinks, blue, and green.
Price: $12.50

Stay Glassy had a really wonderful formula. This polish has EVERYTHING in it and didn’t feel thick at all. All of the components spread out very evenly and easily without needing to do anything special. I found the base shimmer shifted from a pink to gold with green at extreme angles in person.

I found this polish also didn’t dry down super textured but I did pair it with a glitter eating top coat anyway. Again, I am not 100% sure if it was necessary but since this has so many glitters and flakies I erred on the side of caution.

As the description mentions, this does start off sheer but it is very buildable. I found in 1 coat, it can also be used as a topper. I paired it with the Heather’s Hues polish Sirimiri from last year’s fall collection. For my other photos, I swatched it in 3 coats. The shimmer is strong enough in the base that I wasn’t seeing any VNL in 3 coats.

This polish will likely be pretty messy and potentially tricky to remove if you scrub it off. Again, I would suggest soaking it off or pair it with a peel off base coat.

Final Thoughts

I’m sure it is no surprise to anyone that I loved these polishes. If you put shifty shimmer, glitter, flakies, iridescent anything AND holo into 1 polish, I would be hard pressed not to like it. Throw in the fact that Heather’s glitter crellies are always favorites for me, I won’t be picking a favorite thing month.
