Hey nails friends! Today’s blog post is for the newest monthly duo by Heather’s Hues! Each month members of the Heather’s Hues Facebook group submit and vote on photos for Heather to turn in to nail polish.
The theme for this month was lucky charms and once again, Heather has nailed the inspiration photos! These are available now on the Heather’s Hues website, as always I will have links at the end of the post on where you can purchase these.

Heather’s Hues is a indie nail polish brand. Their polishes are handmade in the USA, 5 free, vegan, and cruelty free.
Crystal Clear
Description: a bright blue when cold to colorless when warm (the colorless state is a very sheer white.) It is jam-packed with blue to turquoise shimmer, a rainbow mix of iridescent flakes, and a touch of holo sparkle.
Price: $12.50
Crystal Clear had a great formula that didn’t feel too thick or too thin. It is on the sheer side so it will need to be built up. In the warm state, you will have some slight VNL but this is opaque in the cold state. The flakies all spread out evenly and easily without needing to do anything special. The holo sparkle is delicate but also strong at the same time.
I found to get the vibrant blue for the cold state, you’ll want to go in for that third coat. This seems to dry pretty quickly but not so much so that I had issues. I will note that this had that blue smell that blue polishes tend to have. It wasn’t a strong odor just it smelled like blue polish.
Lucky Charmed Life
Description: a white crelly with a pinch of holo flakes and microshreds, emerald microglitters, and a variety of matte glitters in a rainbow of colors.
Price: $12.50
Lucky Charmed Life had a great crelly formula. As with all of Heather’s glitter crellies, I didn’t need to hold the bottle upside down or do anything special to get an amazing glitter payoff. This will be a 2-3 coater depending on personal preference. If you tend to do 2 coats with white glitter crellies, this will be good in 2. To get the stark white base you’ll need 3 coats. I used 3 coats for my photos plus a coat of glitter eating top coat before my regular glossy top coat.
This will dry down textured so 2 coats of top coat will be needed for a smooth glossy finish. I used 1 coat of Glisten & Glow’s Glitter Grabber before my usual glossy top coat. Removal will be tricky so the soak-off method or using a peel-off base coat would be recommended for easiest removal.

Final Thoughts
I was so excited for this month’s duo and Heather did not disappoint! I was crossing my fingers for a white crelly with a rainbow of glitters (basically Lucky Charms cereal in nail polish form) and I am very happy with what Heather came up with. Obviously, Lucky Charmed Life is my favorite from this release but both polishes were fantastic.
I am also really happy that if was warm enough the day I was swatching these to get outdoor photos. I honestly missed doing them but it gets cold in CT and once it drops below 40 (ok really, when it drops below 50), I do NOT like being outside.
