[Press Samples – Post Disclosure Page]
Hey friends! So the year has just started and we’re already on Valentine’s Day releases. Wild right? But it is that time of year so here we go. Today’s blog post is for a new collection by Glisten & Glow. This is their Love Songs Trio Volume 2.
This trio launches on January 14th on the Glisten & Glow website. Also releasing at that time is Jill’s Birthday polish for 2022! As always, links and sale details can be found at the end of the post.

Can’t Help Falling in Love
Description: red jelly polish loaded with red/gold/green/blue color shifting aurora shimmers
Can’t Help Falling in Love had a gorgeous formula. Since it is a jelly, you will want to build it up for opacity. The shimmer particle is a little larger in particle size, so it doesn’t show brush strokes. The colors I was in it in person were, red, gold green with a blue at extreme angles. I had such a hard time trying to photograph the color shifts in this polish but they are there.
I would recommend wearing this polish in 3 coats. It went on very evenly but after 2 coats, it was still fairly sheer. The third coat adds opacity as well as deepens the base color to what you see in the bottle.
Because I was curious, I also swatched this in 1 coat over Synthetic Symphony by Orly. I really liked this as a topper in particular.
I’ll Stand by You
Description: purple based jelly polish loaded with smaller red glitters and red holo glitters
I’ll Stand by You had a great formula. It started off fairly sheer but built up nicely. The glitters all spread out very evenly and easily without needing to of anything special. They are also very sparkly but do dry down with some texture.
Because this polish is in a jelly base, you will want to build it up for opacity. In two coats, it was still fairly sheer but the color was even. My photo show I’ll Stand By You in 3 coats. The third coat made this completely opaque.
This part also dries down textured so I did pair it with the Glisten & Glow Glitter Grabber before going in with the brand’s quick dry top coat. Removal will be on the tricky side if you try to scrub this one off. I soaked it off with no issues.
Unchained Melody
Description: clear based polish loaded with color shifting chrome flakes that shift from purple/red/copper/green/gold with added fuchsia shreds and gold shimmer.
Unchained Melody also had a fantastic formula. The base didn’t feel thick at all and I also didn’t have any application problems. All of the flakies spread out very evenly, the fuchsia shreds seemed to dry with some slight texture.
This is a very densely packed flakie polish so while you could use it as a topper, the base color will be obscured quite a bit. I swatched it in 1 coat over Bring Me The Teal from the Holo Taco Tea Cremes collection. I will note because this is so densely packed with flakies, I think this polish will be really great for some nail art.
My photos show Unchained Melody in 3 coats. I also paired this with the Glisten & Glow Glitter Grabber before going in with the brand’s top coat.
Removal for this polish won’t be overly difficult but it will be fairly messy. The flakies will also stick to your nails a little bit. I soaked it off with no issues and minimal mess.
Final Thoughts
As a pink lover, I am a little disappointed that there isn’t a pink polish in this release. BUT I do always appreciate non-typical color choices for holiday releases. The color story was really pretty.
These polishes seem like they would be really good with both Valentine’s day AND Anti-Valentine’s Day nail art manicures. I’ll Stand by You is going to be my top pick from this release. It honestly felt a little Halloween-y to me but I loved it.
