Glisten & Glow Holiday Holos

[Press Samples – Post Disclosure Page]

Hey friends! Today’s blog post is for a gorgeous quad by Glisten & Glow. This is the Holiday Holo quad for 2021. If you liked their Fall Holos quad that I reviewed a few months back, you will LOVE these.

So this collection actually launched a few weeks ago but good news, they are all still in stock! Bad news, once they go out they won’t be returning. Just a heads-up, all of the polishes in this release have the exact same formula and application. Also, I swatched these at night so I tweaked my lighting in the 4th photo in each swatch batch to show off the holographic flame.

As always, links and sale details can be found at the end of the post.

All The Jingle Ladies

Description: plum/purple holo polish with added holo microflakes
Price: $11.50

All The Jingle Ladies had a gorgeous formula. It didn’t feel overly thick or thin and I had zero application issues. I found the base color is a jewel toned purple and it had an almost jelly like feel to it. It looks so juicy and gorgeous on the nail.

The holographic elements really pop from the base and this will be SUPER holo in the sun. I found in my normal lighting around the house, the holo microflakes sparkled beautifully.

I used 3 coats for my photos. I think this polish will be a 2-3 coater depending on your own personal preference. For normal wear, I would wear this in 2 coats. Nothing in here will dry textured or be difficult to remove. You will want top coat for a glossy finish.

It’s Simple Claus & Effect

Description:  raspberry holo polish with added holo micro flakes
Price: $11.50

It’s Simple Claus & Effect also had a gorgeous formula and I had zero application issues. The base color on this is a BRIGHT vibrant pink in person. This was the polish I was most excited for just by looking at it in the bottle!

The holographic effect was very strong, even in just my normal room lighting I could see that holo flare. This also applied almost like a jelly polish. I used 3 coats for my photos. I had a *tiny* amount of VNL in two coats. For personal wear, I would wear this in 2 coats.

Nothing in here will dry textured or be difficult to remove. You will want top coat for a glossy finish.

I know a lot of people will want to know how this compares to Glisten & Glow’s Raspberry Margarita. Unfortunately, I do not own that polish (it’s been on my ‘want’ list for ages!) but from what I see from swatches, the added micro flakes in this make it different. I think the base colors will likely have some slight differences but I think the flakes are what will really make them different.

Let’s Take An Elfie!

Description: ultramarine blue holo polish with added holo micro flakes
Price: $11.50 for 15ml

Let’s Take An Elfie! also had a fantastic formula. It starts off a little sheer but builds up very nicely. The base color is a stunning jewel toned blue shade that will look amazing with some wintery nail art.

The holographic in Let’s Take An Elfie was very strong and just looked straight amazing! This will likely be a 2-3 coater depending on your own personal preference and thickness of coats. I used 3 coats for my photos but again, it was passable in 2 coats. I did find the base color did seem to deepen with that third coat.

Nothing in here will dry textured or be difficult to remove. Like the rest of the polishes, you will want top coat for a glossy finish. I didn’t experience any staining.

Sleigh My Name

Description: Ceylon blue holo polish with added holo micro flakes
Price: $11.50

Sleigh My Name had (wait for it…) a fantastic formula. Again, the base didn’t feel overly thick or thin and I had zero application issues. The base color on this one is a warmer cerulean blue.

It had pretty good coverage in 2 coats but I had some very slight VNL so my photos show it in 3 coats. And yes, the name of this polish had me singing that Destiny’s Child song “Say My Name” over and over again.

Since there are two blues in this release, I thought it would be handy to show them side by side. They aren’t dupes and give different looks on the nail! Sleigh My Name is on the left.

Final Thoughts

I loved this collection. I always like it when brands do seasonal collections using non-tradtionally seasonal colors. My top pick from this release is going to be It’s Simple Claus & Effect. I can’t not like a pink holo so that’s why it’s my favorite.

Honestly the colors for this release are the 3 colors that I always personally gravitate towards so it’s hard picking a favorite.
