Geeky Bee’s Nail Colors |To Write Love On Her Arms Charity Polish

[Press Sample/PR Disclosure Page]

Today’s blog post is for a charity polish by the brand Bee’s Knees Nail Colors. Beth (maker/owner) of the brand is donating all of the profits from the sales of this polish to the non-profit organization, To Write Love On Her Arms. This polish will go on sale on March 2nd on the Geeky Bee’s website. As always, I will have all of the sale details at the end of this post.

Geeky Bee’s Nail Colors is a new indie polish brand based in the US. Their polishes are handmade, vegan, cruelty-free and 5 free.

I Know Jenny

Inspiration: The song Jenny by Nothing More
Description: A pale gray jelly base, with lots of blue sparkle, blue iridescent glitter and delicate multicolored flakies
Price: $14 Cap: None

I Know Jenny had a great formula. It didn’t feel too thick or too thin. It was a little sheer on the first coat but builds up nicely. This is a soft cool toned grey. This shade is pretty much as light as grey gets before you start thinking it’s white. The components are delicate but also very glowy on the nail.

Nothing in here is textured and removal is typical flakie polish removal. I used 3 coats for my photos. I did have some VNL with this polish. This is sheer enough that it could be used as a topper over similar base colors.

Personal Thoughts

I was really hesitant on adding this part to this blog post. I don’t want to take away from the polish but I felt it was important to add just in case anyone else reading out there is like me. I have suffered from depression, anxiety, and self injury since I was a teenager. Some years have been harder than others and my mental health is something I struggle with still on a day to day basis.

I really appreciate that now mental health is something that is talked about in a way that isn’t “wow that person is crazy”. My mental health isn’t something I prefer to talk about publicly and I commend people who are able to speak out about it more than I do. I just want to say that if you are struggling and think that it won’t ever get better, just know that it does. Not only does it get better, it gets easier too.

When I first opened the package that had this polish in I felt a little.. uncomfortable about the charity name. It felt a little triggering if I will be perfectly honest. It made me think about my personal issues on the subject and I wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to swatch this. I gave it some thought over a few days and decided to go ahead and to swatch it. And if I was feeling brave to include a little bit about myself. This is a subject I feel very strongly about and I commend all of the brave individuals who have shared their story under the hashtag #IKnowJenny. I’m not quite there yet but I stand with you all especially for those of us who are still figuring things out.
