*Warning one of the polishes in this release contains profanity*

Geeky Bee’s Nail Colors is a US based indie brand. Their polishes are handmade, 5 free and cruelty free.

And the Rain Will Kill Us All

Inspiration: the song “Psychosocial” and the All Hope Is Gone album cover.
Description: A deep and stormy blue base packed with peridot green microflakies

And the Rain Will Kill Us All had an amazing formula. It felt slightly on the thicker side but the application was fantastic. The base color is a slightly greyish navy base. The micro flakies give it a *slight* greenish tone but the base is definitely a blue. The flakies are tiny so they won’t dry textured or be difficult to remove.

This had decent coverage in 2 coats however it was a *tiny* bit sheer. I used 3 coats for my photos. This polish does dry dull so you will want top coat for a glossy finish. Side note, I didn’t know I wanted a polish that looked like this until I got it on my nail!

Don’t Let This F*cking World Tear You Apart

Inspiration: Inspired by the song “xix” and the entire mood of the .5The Gray Chapter album. Geeky Bxee’s ode to the late Paul Gray.
Description: A gray crelly with gray and silver glitters and some subtle sparkle.

Don’t Let This F*cking World Tear You Apart had a fantastic formula. It felt slightly on the thicker side of normal but it went on very smoothly and evenly without giving any application issues. The gray base is on the darker end of the medium grey spectrum and slightly cool toned. The glitters are pretty small so I don’t see them being overly difficult to remove.

I found this had great coverage in 2 coats but I felt like the base color could be built up just a tad more. So this will likely be a 2-3 coater depending on personal preference. Nothing in here dried down textured but you will want top coat for a glossy finish.

I’m Finally Holding on to Letting Go

Inspiration: the song “Unsainted” and the We Are Not Your Kind album cover.
Description: A complex purple jelly with aurora shimmer, multicolor sparkle, and shifty flakies

I’m Finally Holding on to Letting Go had a wonderful formula. I found it was just slightly on the more sheer side. The components in this are absolutely stunning! It’s hard to pinpoint everything that’s in here but the combination looks fantastic.

If you use thicker coats, you likely won’t have VNL in 3 coats. I used medium coats for my swatches and I had a *tiny* bit of VNL on some angles. Nothing in here dried textured or will be difficult to remove.

Aphid Attraction Duo

I Won’t Let This Build Up Inside of Me

Inspiration: The song Vermillion
Description: A sparkly and slightly pearly vermilion polish with gunmetal micro flakes and a touch of gold.

I Won’t Let This Build Up Inside of Me had a wonderful formula. It didn’t feel overly thick or thin and I didn’t have any application issues. I usually don’t lean towards polishes that are reddish oranges but paired with the gold, I really liked the way this polish looked!

This one is slightly on the more jelly/sheer side in comparison to the crellies, so you will want to build it up for full opacity. I used 3 coats for my photos but other than adding a tiny bit more opacity, there wasn’t a huge difference between 2 coats and 3.

Nothing in here dried textured and removal won’t be overly difficult. I also didn’t experience any staining.

I Can’t Make Her Real

Inspiration: The song Vermillion part 2
Description: A dreamy topper full of gold flakies, shimmer, and microglitter.

I Can’t Make Her Real had a wonderful formula. It didn’t feel thick at all despite being jam packed with components. Swatching this polish made me realize just how much I enjoy gold flakies/glitters/shimmer. This topper will look fantastic over a variety of base colors.

I swatched this in 1 coat over black (Heather’s Hues Shadow) as well as in 3 coats on its own. Since the components are in a clear base, on its own you will have VNL. Nothing in here dried textured and I didn’t have any trouble on removal. You will want top coat for a glossy finish.

One Night In Iowa Soap

If you pick up the full collection for this release, you will also be getting this 4oz bar of handmade soap! The scent on this is amazing and this suds up wonderfully as well. I had a hard time pinpointing exactly what scents I was picking up but I feel like it smells slightly floral with some smokey musk.

Final Thoughts

Like I mentioned previously, Slipknot is one of my all-time favorite bands so the fact that Geeky Bee’s came out with not 1 but 2 collections based on them makes me insanely happy! I really liked that Beth (owner/maker of the brand) went outside of the typical Slipknot colors (black and red) with this release.

At first glance, these colors don’t scream Slipknot but once you look at the inspirations, they do fit perfectly. My top picks from this release are going to be And the Rain Will Kill Us All and Don’t Let This F*cking World Tear You Apart.
