Hey friends! Today I have a fantastic release from Geeky Bee’s Nail Colors. If y’all remember, last year Geeky Bee’s came out with a 2 part Slipknot inspired collection Time Of Nine Part 1 & Time Of Nine Part 2 which happened to be favorites of mine last year. So when Beth of Geeky Bee’s reached out and asked if I would be interested in swatching a Static X collection? Hell yes I was interested!
So this collection is a 6 piece collection in collaboration with eliza_cherie on Instagram. It is available right now on the Geeky Bee’s website and as always, I will have links and sale details at the end of the post.
Just a heads-up, I am changing the formatting of my blog from here on out. I noticed the other day that for photos in galleries (basically how I have been adding multiple photos on here since day 1 look a lot smaller on mobile devices since WordPress updated a few months back. So to make life easier for readers eyes on mobile, I am just going to do away with galleries and add each image individually.

Geeky Bee’s Nail Colors is a US based indie brand. Their polishes are all fandom/geek inspired, handmade, 5 free and cruelty free.
Flickering Colors
Inspiration: the song “Black and White.”
Description: a black crelly with a scattered holo sparkle and packed with pink/purple iridescent flakies that flash blue or green
Flickering Colors had a really good formula. I would say that this one skirts the line between being a jelly and a crelly as it is a little bit on the more sheer side but it does build up really nicely for full opacity.
The flakies all spread out very evenly and easily without giving off any texture. I always say this, but iridescent flakies in a black base ALWAYS get me and this is no exception.
My photos show Flickering Colors in 3 coats plus both glossy and matte top coats. Removal won’t be overly difficult but likely a little messy.
I will say, this polish did remind me of Superfast Flyer (April 2022 Polished Gamers Box) but seeing them side by side, you can see that they aren’t really similar other than both having the black base. This polish also has the added holographic element.
Go! Go! Go! Go!
Inspiration: the song “Sweat of the Bud.”
Description: a pinkish mauve crelly with a silvery sparkle, navy and indigo microglitters, and blue-purple iridescent glitter.
Go! Go! Go! Go! had a wonderful crelly formula. The base felt slightly on the thicker side but still very easy to work with. The glitters all spread out very evenly and without feeling super textured.
I really like the base color on this polish. It’s not a color I would associate with Static X BUT just like in the Slipknot inspired collection, the color choice somehow works. I don’t know how but it does!
My photos show Go! Go! Go! Go! in 3 coats plus both glossy and matte top coats. None of the glitters will dry down super textured so 1 coat of top coat will likely smooth this one out completely.
Removal won’t be overly difficult but I still wouldn’t recommend scrubbing this polish off.
Hypocrite, Lunatic, Fanatic, Heretic
Inspiration: the song “The Only.”
Description: a linear holographic multichrome that shifts varying shades of green/blue/violet.
Hypocrite, Lunatic, Fanatic, Heretic had a really great formula. It was just slightly on the thicker side but very easy to work with. I was actually surprised at how opaque this polish was.
The multichrome effect was VERY color shifty. I was seeing the described colors as well as a hint of pink at extreme angles. Another thing that I was surprised about was that the holographic was just as strong as the multichrome. In the sunlight this is going to be like BAM in your face holographic.
My photos show Hypocrite, Lunatic, Fanatic, Heretic in 2 coats plus glossy top coat. This polish dries down a little flat so you will want top coat to give it a glossy finish. Nothing in here will be difficult to remove.
Leave Me Alone Now
Inspiration: the song “Shadowzone” and the cover art from the album of the same name
Description: a neon apple green glow in the dark polish with bronzey-gold shimmer and various black holo glitter
Leave Me Alone Now had a really great formula. All of the glitters spread out evenly and easily. Texture wise, I would say this was minimal but I still opted to pair it with a glitter smoothing top coat before going in with my quick dry top coat.
Just by going by the bottle, this was the polish I was most excited about. A pastel neon green base + glitter? Yeah no duh haha. Like this will be PERFECT for some Halloween nail art.
The glow in the dark effect was very strong. I charged this polish up using a blacklight flashlight and it had a really strong glow. Sadly I wasn’t able to test if it charges easily via sunlight (it was raining) but based on how strong this one seemed, you shouldn’t have difficulties charging it with natural light.
My photos show Leave Me Alone Now in 3 coats plus 2 coats of top coat. Depending on application (and potentially your nail length) this will be a 2-3 coater. Removal will likely be a little difficult if you opt to scrub this polish off.
Mindlessness, It’s Mindlessness
Inspiration: the song “Bled For Days.”
Description: a vampy, yet bright, sparkly red polish full of red/gold micro flakies, and various red and copper micro glitters.
Mindlessness, It’s Mindlessness had a gorgeous formula. It was just slightly on the thicker side but application was very easy. The flakies/glitters all spread out evenly with very minimal texture.
I always tell myself red polishes aren’t my thing and then I put one on and am in awe of how pretty they are. The glitters in here are a little top coat hungry so I would recommend doubling up on top coat or pairing this with a glitter smoothing top coat.
My photos show Mindlessness, It’s Mindlessness in 2 coats plus glossy top coat. As I mentioned, the glitters are a little top coat hungry. I used 1 coat of top coat for my photos and did notice that the polish was a little less glossy by the time I finished taking my photos.
Removal won’t be overly difficult but since this polish is so pigmented, I would really recommend soaking this polish off to minimize the chances of staining. I didn’t experience any staining with this polish.
So I Grabbed My Shovel
Inspiration: the song “I’m With Stupid” and the album cover art of ‘Wisconsin Death Trip.’
Description: a silver reflective glitter bomb with red and orange holo glitter
So I Grabbed My Shovel had a good formula. It was very much on the thick side (reflective glitters do that) but I didn’t have any application issues.
The glitters in here are a fun mix of holo and reflective. Even though it was a little overcast the day I was swatching this, both types still looked really gorgeous in natural lighting. My natural light shot is without any added flash.
The inspiration for this polish is one of my favorite songs by this band! If you haven’t heard this song before, highly highly recommend it.
The glitters in this polish do give it quite a bit of texture. When I took my couple of photos, I paired it with 1 coat of glitter smoothing top coat and 1 coat of quick dry top coat. I had to run outside to check on Sassy and when I got back indoors, the glitters ate up my top coat so I had to add a third coat to smooth everything out.
My photos show So I Grabbed My Shovel in 3 coats plus top coat. I think this will be a 2-3 coater depending on personal preference. If you have longer nails, you might want to go in for a third coat to completely cover up VNL. It is passable in 2 coats though.
Removal will be on the more difficult side if you opt to scrub this polish off. Just don’t do that to yourself and soak this one off or use a peel off base coat.
We Kiss the Stars
Inspiration: the song “Cold.”
Description: a clear-based icy glitter bomb/topper full of varying sizes and shades of blue holo glitter.
[this is meant to be a sister polish to “Berserk” from our Defenders of Tokyo-3 collection.]
We Kiss the Stars had a fantastic formula. The base felt slightly on the thicker side but what I would expect from a glitter bomb. The glitters all spread out evenly and only gave off a little bit of texture.
This polish is next level sparkly! I personally loved it in 3 coats on its own but it works well as a topper too. As a topper I paired it with Holo Taco’s Cyantific.
Since this polish is in a clear base, you will have some VNL with it on its own. I found the glitters give a good amount of coverage but not complete coverage. However, the glitters are next level sparkly and in my opinion, make for VNL to be easily ignored.
My photos show We Kiss the Stars in 3 coats plus 2 coats of top coat. As a topper, I swatched it in 1 coat over Holo Taco’s Cyantific. Removal will be very difficult if you try to scrub this polish off.
***We Kiss The Stars is only available if you pick up the full collection listing***
Final Thoughts
I freaking LOVED this collection! While Static X isn’t in my top 10, so many of their songs are songs that I play over and over (and over) again on a regular basis. I had fun trying to remember lyrics to place polish names with songs without cheating and looking at the info sheet Beth had send.
I feel like the color story on this release will do well for those of you who are like me and kinda over summer and have (mentally) moved on to Fall. Leave Me Alone Now is screaming at me to do some Halloween nail art with it.
My top picks because I loved the polishes were Hypocrite, Lunatic, Fanatic, Heretic and Leave Me Alone Now. My top picks because I love the songs We Kiss the Stars (Cold is one of my favorite songs EVER) and So I Grabbed My Shovel..
