Bee’s Knees Lacquer – The Stuff Of Your Nightmares

Description: a blackened blue with glowy blue to purple multichrome flakes, and a scattering of matte black flakes and holo flakes for extra depth

The Stuff Of Your Nightmares oooh the base color on this one paired with the flakies? PERFECTION. I am undecided on which I like more, the black flakies or the holographic ones!

This is a more jelly-like polish so it does start off sheer and needs to be built up for opacity. Coverage is fairly even so if you don’t mind VNL or getting the full depth of the base color, it is passable in two coats.

I found both the formulation and application process wonderful. All of the flakies spread out evenly without giving off any real texture. One coat of top coat smoothed everything out really nicely.

My photos show The Stuff Of Your Nightmares in 3 coats plus a glossy top coat. This will be a 2-3 coater depending on personal preference. Removal won’t be too difficult but I would still recommend the soak off method. No issues with staining.

Nailed It – Soul-Sucking Void

Description: A light purple base packed with pink/gold and blue/purple crystal flakies

Soul-Sucking Void I just love that the name of this polish is so dark but the polish itself is bright and cute. I also love that this polish has some big ol flakies!

This is jam packed with flakies so the base does feel a bit on the thicker side. I didn’t need to add any thinner to my bottle but I likely will next time I reach for this. I don’t think there were too many flakies (is there even such a thing??) but there were certainly a lot of them. The flakies do not dry down textured but they do have a tendency to poke off the tips of the nails.

Since this was on the thicker side, I avoided adding a third coat. I did have a touch of VNL due to not completely building it up. I loved how it looked in two coats so I am not mad at the VNL. If you want to cover any VNL I would suggest going in for a third coat.

My photos show Soul-Sucking Void in 2 coats plus glossy top coat. The flakies will make removal a bit more difficult than a creme but nothing like glitter removal.

Night Owl Lacquer – I Do Believe In Revenge

Description: a black jelly filled with glowy aqua/blue/violet shifting crystal flakes and black/red multichrome micro flakies

I Do Believe In Revenge I was surprised that the description for this polish included the black to red multichrome flakies. I had to go back and look at my footage again because I completely missed them when I did these swatches. The main color that you see on the nail comes from the aqua/blue/violet shifting flakies.

I am not generally the biggest lover of black based polishes but since we are in the Falloween season? Love em! Especially when you throw in color shifty components.

The flakies do make the base feel a little bit on the thicker side but not so thick that I needed to add any thinner. The flakies all spread out evenly with minimal texture however they are top coat hungry so I would recommend doubling up on your top coat to keep everything smooth and glossy.

On the first coat, this is kinda patchy and uneven but it builds up perfectly in two coats. Folks with super long nails might need a third coat but my short and medium length friends should be good in two coats.

My photos show I Do Believe In Revenge in 2 coats plus glossy top coat. Removal will be very messy but not the hardest thing ever to scrub off.

Ribbits Stickits

Scent descriptions: Enid is scented after Skittles and Wednesday is scented after Oreos

For August both the hand & curtle cream and acetone additive are in the form of duos.

I had a blast playing around with this month’s waterslide decals! I used a grungy black to white base using Night Owl Lacquer Ya Basic White and Ya Basic Black cremes. On my ring finger, I used NOL’s gold topper Shredded Gold on my ring finger.

Final Thoughts

I will admit this now, I didn’t actually ever finish watching Wednesday so I have no idea how the season ends. I think I only watched the first 3 episodes. My takeaway from the show was that I liked Enid the most and that I could never be an Adams family member.

All of that was to say that I am not super well versed about the inspiration material BUT from what I do know, this seems very fitting! As a bright polish lover, I appreciate that the Nailed It brought some color to the release however all of the brands did a fantastic job this month.
