Bee’s Knees Lacquer – That’s Not Fair
Description: a grass green with orange to gold to green iridescent flakes and a scattering of silver flakes.
That’s Not Fair starts out a little sheer but builds up nicely. It’s also on the thinner side but not so thin that it feels watery.
There are some big honking flakies in this polish that really got me going! I found myself zhooshing them around with my brush a little bit to get them where I wanted but obviously, that’s not necessary, the flakies all spread out very evenly and easily.
I had initially thought that That’s Not Fair was opaque in two coats, however, it was just shy of being a solid two coater. If you don’t mind this not being quite a deep as it looks in the bottle, it’s passable in two. Coverage was pretty great for my nail length in two coats though.
My photos show That’s Not Fair in 3 coats plus both glossy and matte top coats. I LOOOOOVED this polish with a matte top coat. Removal won’t be overly difficult but I would still recommend the soak off method or a peel off base coat for the easiest removal.

Night Owl Lacquer – As the World Falls Down
Description: a blackened blue jelly with silver holographic micro flakies and bright blue & silver metallic flakes
As the World Falls Down had a fantastic formula. I loved the dark blue base paired with the flakies! Much like the previous polish, this is a little sheer on that first coat so you need to build it up.
Despite being sheer on the first coat, I found this built up really nicely for me in only two coats. I do think folks with longer nails than me might want to add a third coat to cover VNL.
The flakies in this polish made me think of rock candy for some reason? I can’t explain it but that’s where my brain went. They do not dry down textured like a glitter but you will still want top coat for a smooth, glossy finish.
My photos show As the World Falls Down in 2 coats plus both glossy and matte top coats. The flakies look amazing with a matte top coat btw! Removal for this polish won’t be overly difficult but due to the flakies, I would recommend the soak off method.

LynB Designs – It’s Only Forever
Description: a deep plum to clear thermal with shifting flakies, smattering of black flakies, and holo flakies
It’s Only Forever also had a fantastic formula. The thermal pigment in this polish was very reactive. My hands were very warm the day I swatched this polish so I used a ice pack to get my photos to show the cold state.
In the warm state, the brand lists this as colorless, I found that it looks more like a very pale grey in the warm state. The cold state was as described. I will call this a 2-3 coater depending on your personal preference. I almost always use three coats for thermals that are listed as clear in the warm state so that’s what I did for my photos.
All of the flakies spread out evenly without giving off too much texture but again, you will still want top coat for a smooth and glossy finish. The holographic gave a very pretty twinkle!
My photos show show It’s Only Forever in 3 coats plus glossy top coat. Removal will be pretty messy if you opt to scrub this one off.

Ribbits Stickits
I used Sweet & Sour Lacquer’s Blur Sauce in pink with Heather’s Hues Merry & Bright as my base for the water slide decals.
The scent for February is called ‘Ello Come In Meet the Missus.
Scent Description: white tea and garden sage with a hint of African violets, bergamot, lemon zest, mint, wildflowers, white grapefruit, and sugarcane with a base of frankincense, fir, cedar, basil, rosemary and vetiver
