I feel like 2023 has been the year I started busting out my crackle polishes again… as well as buying a ton more. I know they’re not everyone’s cup of tea but they are MY cup of tea! It seems like indie and boutique brands are releasing this finish again so I can’t wait to see what kind of crackles come out in the coming months!

The base for this manicure is Holo Taco‘s Orange Drink which is a linear holographic. If you haven’t tried Holo Taco’s linear holographic formula, it is pretty damn fantastic. For the crackle polish, I used OPI Super Bass Shatter, which was originally released quite a few years ago in a Nicki Minaj collab. Super Bass Shatter has been discontinued BUT you can easily find it on eBay or Mercari. Despite Super Bass Shatter being fairly old, it performed just like a new bottle would.
This wouldn’t be a Nicole Loves Nails nail art if I didn’t add gold to it so I added one coat of Clionadh Cosmetics Golden Prairie which is a real 24k gold flakie topper. I have an affiliate code with Clionadh, use code NicoleLovesNails to save on their website.
I can’t remember how long I wore this manicure for but it was for around a week or so. I have really been enjoying just painting my nails for fun again. Since Nicole Loves Nails really kicked off, I haven’t been able to say that I felt like painting my nails for fun as much. And I have been consistently painting my nails just for fun for about 2 months now?
