Cirque Colors Vice 2022 + Drag Queen Story Hour Charity Polish

[Purchased/Gifted – Post Disclosure Page]

Hey nail friends! Today I am sharing the newest releases from a new-to-the-blog brand called Cirque Colors. Each year I always look forward to this brand’s vice collection which is always a bright neon collection. This year we have 3 new colors to the lineup as well as Cirque Colors (finally..) upgrading their brush to a paddle shape! When I heard the news that there was a new brush, I scooped these up right away.

As well as there being new colors and brush, Cirque Colors has a new charity polish which they kindly sent me over. 100% of the proceeds on sales will be going to the Drag Queen Story Hours non-profit organization. All of these polishes are available right now where Cirque Colors is sold. As per usual I will have links and sale details at the end of the post.

Cirque Colors is a US based indie brand. Their polishes are 10 free, cruelty-free, vegan, and in 11ml bottles.

Pyro

Description: a neon red-orange crème

Pyro had a fantastic formula. The base was just slightly on the thicker side but around when I expect from an opaque creme. This applied buttery smooth and was VERY opaque on the first coat.

This polish is ear-searingly bright! The color to my eye was a neon red/orange.I needed to color correct this photo as it just looked orange straight from the camera.

My photos show Pyro in 2 coats plus glossy top coat. This polish dries down with a slight matte finish so you will want top coat for a glossy finish.

Electric Daisy

Description: a neon highlighter yellow crème

Electric Daisy had a fantastic formula. It was also *slightly* on the thicker side but again when I expect from more opaque creme polishes. It also applied buttery smoothy however I did notice that if I capped my free edge after I finished the coat that I got that little ride at the tip.

The color on this polish was as described. It is that really bright neon yellow that has green undertones. I had to color correct this swatch as well as it photographed very yellow.

My photos show Electric Daisy in 2-3 coats plus glossy top coat. I had 2 nails that were good in 2 coats and the others needed a third. This will likely be a 2-3 coater depending on application. It also dries down with an almost matte finish so you will need glossy top coat for a smooth finish.

Electric Daisy is a re-released shade.

Kushy

Description: a neon green crème nail polish.

Kushy also had a fantastic formula. I found it was also slightly on the thicker side but I didn’t have any application issues. It self leveled really well.

To my eye, this color is as described. I had to edit it a bit to get it to look as crazy neon in photos as it does in person. This is one of the re-released shades and the one I had on my wishlist FOREVER.

My photos show Kushy in 2 coats plus glossy top coat. Depending on application this might be a three coater. This one also dried with a matte-like finish so you will want top coat for a glossy finish.

Sky High

Description: neon electric blue crème

Sky High had a fantastic formula. The base (I’m sorry this is so repetitive haha) was slightly on the thicker side but very easy to work with. It self leveled perfectly.

I would say the description of this was also accurate. I love shades like this and while it doesn’t scream neon to my brain, I do still love the color. The name paired with the color of this reminds me of that movie about teenage superheroes called Sky High.

My photos show Sky High in 2 coats plus glossy top coat. Like the other polishes, this dries with a semi-matte finish so you will want top coat for a glossy finish.

Guilty Pleasure

Description: a neon purple crème

Guilty Pleasure had a wonderful formula. The base was also slightly on the thicker side but it applied very easily. It wasn’t quite a 1 coater but it was close.

The color description on this polish was also accurate. Out of all of the colors in the neon rainbow, purple is my least favorite. While I liked the color of this, it wasn’t my favorite just because I don’t really love purple neons by themselves.

My photos show Guilty Pleasure in 2 coats plus glossy top coat. Again, you will want top coat for a glossy finish.

Socialite

Description:  a neon pink-lilac crème

Socialite had a fantastic formula. Like all of the other polishes in this release, it applied very easily and I didn’t have any application issues.

I would say that this polish was also as described. Socialite is another shade that I have had my eye on from previous releases but held off on getting. Overall I like it but I do wish it was more “normal” neon pink and not pink with lilac/purple in it. I ended up needing to color correct this polish as well as it photographed very pink and a little neon pastel-y.

My photos show Socialite in 2 coats plus glossy top coat. Last time, you will want top coat for a glossy finish.

Once Upon A Time (Charity Polish)

Description: a multicolored rainbow confetti glitter nail polish in a clear base

**All of the proceeds from this polish will be donated to the benefit Drag Queen Story Hour, an LGBTQ non-profit organization that provides literary programming to children in the community through the reading of storybooks by drag performers**

Once Upon A Time had fantastic formula. The glitters all spread out evenly and easily. I did find myself doing some glitter placement because I can’t help myself but you don’t *have* to do that to get great coverage. The larger glitters (lips and lightning bolts) do sink a bit in the bottle. Holding the bottle upsidedown will help you get out more of those glitters but you don’t really need to do any fishing for them.

I like this polish so much that I actually applied it to my Cindy hand about a week ago. I’m still wearing it but it is on its last legs since I decided to chop my nails down yesterday.

For my long nail swatch photos, I used 1 coat with glitter placement. For Cindy, I used 2 coats and held the bottle upside down between coats. This polish does dry down textured so you will want to pair it with a glitter smoothing top coat before going in with your quick dry top coat. On my Cindy hand, I found that a few of the lip glitters did poke up a bit off of the nail even after 2 coats of top coat.

Removal will be on the more difficult side if you try to scrub this one off. Soaking it off or using a peel off base coat will give you the easiest removal experience.

Final Thoughts

I LOVE LOVE LOVED this collection. The Vice collection is a collection that I genuinely look forward to each year. And every year that I don’t buy it, I regret it. So I was super pumped that the shades that I most wanted came back this year AND they have a new paddle brush to boot!

I found the wider brush made applying these SO perfect. I’ll be honest, the #1 reason why I don’t regularly buy from Cirque is that I don’t like their brush so the new change is probably really bad news for my wallet.

My top picks from the Vice collection are going to be Electric Daisy, Kush, and Pyro. I just love eye searing neons so those are what called to me the most. I also REALLY loved Once Upon A Time. I’m honestly tempted to go buy another bottle because the glitter mix is A+.
