Today I am sharing the first of the Holiday themed collections of the year. This one is the Drippin In Glitz collection from China Glaze. I was really excited and looking forward to this collection. Holiday releases are usually some of my least favorite, other than the glitter polishes at least.
When I saw that China Glaze was giving us 6 full coverage glitters, I was really really excited. After several, erm interesting releases this year what could go wrong? Sadly all of the polishes arrived to me extremely thick and unusable without adding thinner to the base. As you can tell from the header image, I was able to get them all usable but this was a wild ride.

Get Your Glitter On
Description: a red glitter mix in a slightly red tinted base
Get Your Glitter On had a pretty good formula once I added some thinner. It was still on the thicker side as I didn’t want to overload the polish with thinner. The glitters in here are all pretty small so texture is minimal but present.
I found this glitter to be a little underwhelming but I also think that is tainted by the fact that in general, I don’t like red polishes. There do seem to be some holographic glitters in here but for the most part, this is a red glitter mix.
I think this one will work really well as a topper as the glitters are a bit more sparse. I do think this would make for a pretty accent nail.

Glitter Is The New Black
Description: a clear base with black glitter sheds, holographic bar glitter and silver hexes
Glitter Is The New Black had a not great but not terrible formula, once I added some thinner. I found application a little tricky as the black shreds had a tendency to glob together and make for well chunks on the nail.
So on the positive side, I didn’t need to do any glitter fishing. On the negative side, I did have a few times where I had to wipe my brush off on a paper towel to clear my brush off a glob of glitter shreds.
I love that China Glaze added holo to this polish as this is the only one in this release that doesn’t scream ‘holiday’ to me. I think this would have been a cool addition to a Halloween collection tbh. I realized when recording my live swatch that this looks really cool in 1 coat as a topper.
You get a lot of texture with this one due to the glitter shreds. When built up like in my photos, a glitter smoothing top coat (I use KBShimmer’s Smooth Moves) is going to be your best friend.
My photos show Glitter Is The New Black in 3 coats coats. I did end up doing some glitter placement as I had to push the glitters around with my brush to even out coverage.
I Speak Glitter
Description: a clear base with metallic turquoise hex glitter, silver holo bar glitters and silver holo star shaped glitter
I Speak Glitter had a good formula, once I added some thinner to it. The hex and bar glitters come out pretty easily but the star glitters are a bit more shy. I was able to get a few out on then ail without doing any fishing but I did find that stars get kind of lost after 3 coats.
My only complaint about this polish is I thought the star glitters get kind of lost in the mix of bar and hex glitters. I just feel that you have to be looking really closely at the nails to see the star glitters. I wish they came out easier and/or there were more of them.
This polish dries down pretty textured due to the sheer amount of glitters in this polish. So I did pair this one with a glitter smoothing top coat before my quick dry top coat. With the exception of a spot where I had a glitter hanging off the side of my nail, that smoothed this out nicely.

If It Sparkles It’s Mine
Description: a rose gold glitter mix with hex glitters and shreds in a clear base
If It Sparkles It’s Mine also required thinner but pretty nicely once that was added. Even with thinner, the base was still on the thicker side.
The glitter shreds do seem to have an issue where they clump together and at times can make applying the polish a little tricky. They also dry down pretty textured so double (o tripling) your top coat will be necessary.
I love rose gold (falling second only to gold) so I did really like this polish a lot.
My photos show If It Sparkles It’s Mine in 3 coats plus 2 coats of top coat. I loved this polish on its own but it does make for a good topper.
Queen Of Bling
Description: a clear base with metallic gold glitters in a few sizes with (maybe?) gold metallic flakes
Queen Of Bling had a good formula, once I added some thinner to it. I didn’t have any application issues outside of needing thinner.
This polish is incredibly sparkly and looks really beautiful on the nail. This was the polish that I thought was going to be my favorite just based on colors.
The glitters in here are pretty small in comparison to the other polishes in this release (with the exception of Get Your Glitter On). I think there are also some small metallic gold flakes in here. Texture wise, nothing in here is super textured but the glitters do seem a little top coat hungry.
For full coverage, this polish will be a solid 3 coater.Coverage is sparse enough in 1 coat that this will work well as a topper. I will note, this is the type of “full coverage” glitter where you can see your nail in between the space of the glitters. If you want 0 visible nail, sponging this on would be the route to go.

She’s Icy
Description: a silver glitter mix with hex glitters and shreds in a clear base
She’s Icy was also extremely thick and needed thinner. After adding thinner, application was a lot easier. I did find that the polish had a tendency to glob together when I got a lot of the shreds out at one time.
The glitter shreds do give this one some significant texture so doubling up on your top coat (or possibly tripling) will be needed to smooth this one out.
This polish was kinda weird to me. I didn’t like how it looked in person but I love how it photographed. Like it looks like crumpled up aluminum foil which in theory sounds cool but I just didn’t really love this on my nails.

Final Thoughts
I am torn on how I feel about this collection. I was SO excited and pumped about this holiday collection. As someone who in general doesn’t like holiday releases, that was a big shock. But once I saw that all of the polishes were glitters, I was really thinking that this was going to be the redemption China Glaze needed after several disappointing collections (Vain Villans and Don’t Give A Sip).
However, ALL of the polishes were so thick that they were completely unusable without adding in thinner. And while I do think anyone who is doing at home manicures should have some thinner on hand (I recommend KBShimmer’s and Orly’s) but I think it’s just unacceptable that all of the polishes arrived to me in this state. From what I have seen in other people’s reviews, I wasn’t the only person where the polishes arrived this way.
If I ignore how the polishes arrived and just go by how the polishes look on me, I loved this collection. They were all so sparkly and I like how China Glaze used some interesting glitter mixes. Color story wise, I thought everything looked good together and seemed seasonally appropriate.
My top picks are Queen Of Bling and If It Sparkles It’s Mine. Glitter Is The New Black gets an honorable mention as I really liked how that one looked as a topper.
