Boy Mom Collab

Hey nail friends! Today I am sharing a new collection/collab between Color Spectrum Polish and 1422 Designs! Bonnie (1422 Designs) and Shannon got together to celebrate the quirkier side of being mother’s to boys. This collaboration will be available on the 1422 Designs website as a pre-order starting on February 15th. I’ll have all of the sale details at the end of this post. Don’t forget to check out my live swatch video for this collab on my new YouTube channel!

Disclaimer: I was sent these products as PR in exchange for photographs and an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own. My photos were taken indoors with daylight/LED bulbs. I used the KB Shimmer Clearly On Top glossy top coat, Glisten & Glow Glitter Grabber (for glitter polishes) and the Glisten & Glow Matte top coat for my photos.

1422 Designs – *Cringe*

Description: A light turquoise polish with red-violet-blue shifting shimmer and red sparkle
Price: $9

*Cringe* Had a good jelly formula. It is on the thinner side of normal but not watery and I didn’t have any application issues. It is sheer on the first coat but it builds up to full opacity in 3 coats. The shimmer is very sparkly in person! It gives this a glowy blue/violet effect. My photos show it in 3 coats. Nothing in here is textured or difficult to remove.

1422 Designs – Watch This!

Description: A cement gray crelly with red-violet-blue shifting shimmer and gold flakies
Price: $9

Watch This! had a really nice formula. This is a medium grey with a good amount of shifty shimmer. I found the shimmer seemed more color shifty in this base than in the previous polish. The flakies seemed almost subdued and not really want I think of when I think of gold flakies. I think they’re like an antique gold? I don’t know how to describe them colorwise.

I used 3 coats for my photos but I think I could have stopped at 2 coats. Nothing in here feels textured or will be difficult to remove.

Color Spectrum Polish – Stealing Hearts, Blasting Farts

Description: A berry red with green shimmer and green to blue to purple shifting ucc flakies
Price: $9

Stealing Hearts, Blasting Farts this also had a great formula. It felt just slightly on the thicker side of normal but it applies really nicely and evenly. The flakies spread out nicely as well. I feel that the green shimmer looks more gold than green on the nail.

This is what I would call a pinky red. It can lean a little pink depending on lighting and I’m sure skin tone. This was opaque in 2 coats but to get the red you see in the bottle, I used a 3rd coat. Nothing in here is textured and removal is easy.

Color Spectrum Polish – Wrestle Mania Smack Down

Description: A deep blue with blue shimmers, blue to purple ghost and holo
Price: $9

Wrestle Mania Smack Down is a beautiful deep blue but not so deep that it looks black. It has a great formula that is on just the thicker side of normal but not so thick that it causes application issues. The shimmers and flakies blend in to the base to give a nice almost subtle affect on the nail.

This will be a 2-3 coater depending on your nail length. I used 3 coats for my photos. I thought this was great glossy but the matte top coat brought this to a whole other level! Nothing in here is textured and removal wasn’t difficult.

Note: I had some light/temporary staining with this on my skin after doing cleanup. Once I removed the polish and washed my hands I didn’t have any staining on my nails or skin. If you are prone to blue polishes staining you, I recommend doubling up on base coat with this one and soaking off to remove it.
