Blow Up the F*cking Ocean

Description: a black-based cyan to purple multichrome with black and gold light reflective glitters
Price: 13.50

Blow Up the F*cking Ocean had a great formula. The base was on the thicker side but I found it applied very easily. The light reflective glitters do this polish quite a bit of texture as well as the reason for the thickness. I found them to be very sparkly in both normal lighting as well as under direct lighting.

The multichrome was as described. I would say that the glitters do not overpower the multichrome. When you are under bright, direct lighting the glitters will be more in your face but under “normal” lighting conditions, they don’t overpower the multichrome.

My photos show Blow Up the F*cking Ocean in 2 coats plus 2 coats of top coat. For the smoothest finish, you will want to double up on your top coat. I used the KBShimmer Smooth Moves glitter smoothing top coat before going in with my quick dry top coat.

Removal will be on the difficult side if you scrub this off due to the glitters.

Crit Happens

Description: a bright yellow jelly with light reflective glitter
Price: $13

Crit Happens had a good formula. It was *very* thick but I didn’t have any issues with the application. Again, that thickness was due to the amount of light reflective glitters in here.

To my eye, the base color is a golden yellow shade. Since this one is a jelly, it was on the more sheer side. Since the base was so thick I opted to only do 2 coats of color for this one. I don’t think a third coat would add much opacity but it would likely deepen the base a bit.

My photos show Crit Happens in 2 coats plus 2 coats of top coat. If you don’t like textured finishes, you will want to double up on top coat. Removal will be on the difficult side if you try to scrub this off.

Fairy Punchfather

Description: a grape purple polish with strong green to blue shimmer
Price: $13

Fairy Punchfather had a beautiful formula. The shimmer effect GLOWS off the nail. In person, I was seeing a green, blue to purple color shift. I didn’t see any brush strokes through it.

The base is on the more sheer side so you will want to build this one up for the most opacity. I thought it was going to be a stainer but I didn’t have any issues with staining.

My photos show Fairy Punchfather in 3 coats plus top coat. I did have some VNL with this polish. Depending on the thickness of your coats, it might be more prominent. In my live swatch, it looked a lot sheerer.

Punchomancy

Description: a slightly sheer magenta jelly with gold to green to blue shimmer
Price: $13

Punchomancy had a fantastic formula. You will want to build this one up as it is on the sheerer side. The sheerness really helps that shimmer just BAM right in your eyeballs though. I was seeing the color shifts as described without any brush strokes.

Color wise, this is one of my favorite from the collection. I see pink + gold anything and immediately am in love. I was curious how this looked as a topper so I paired it in 1 coat over Heather’s Hues Rudenja (Equinox collection).

My photos show Punchomancy in 3 coats plus top coat.

Paladin Mike

Description: an aqua polish with gold to green to blue shimmer and a rainbow of light reflective glitter
Price: $13.50

Paladin Mike had a gorgeous formula. It was on the thicker side due to the reflective glitter however it also very opaque. The base color and shimmer were as described.

I am still undecided on what color I was specifically seeing in the light reflective glitters. I really wish I swatched this one on a sunny day so I could have seen it in natural lighting. Under flash, I was just seeing blue, green (maybe yellow?) and silver reflects.

My photos show Paladin Mike in 2 coats plus 2 coats of top coat. Removal will be on the more difficult/messy side if you try to scrub this one off.

Queen Buttstallion

Description: a purple to yellow to green pastel multichrome with holo flakes and silver light reflective glitter so it shimmers in every light, just like Her Majesty
Price: $13.50

Queen Buttstallion really great formula. It was on a thicker side of normal but it applied very evenly and easily. The multichrome was as described.

Between the reflective glitter and the holo flakies, this was an incredibly sparkly polish! The glitters do give the polish some texture. I was able to get this out outside in the sun and it was really really gorgeous.

My photos show Queen Buttstallion in 2 coats plus 2 coats of top coat. I think I could have gotten away with a third coat of polish as the base wasn’t as thick as some of the other reflective polishes.

Removal will be on the difficult side if you try to scrub this off.

Seduce the Drawbridge

Description: a pink coral with rich cobalt shimmer
Price: $13

Seduce the Drawbridge had a fantastic formula. The base didn’t feel overly thick or thin and I didn’t have any application issues. To my eye, I would say the base color is like a bright salmon pink shade.

The shimmer in here really pops from that sheer base. I didn’t see any brush strokes through it.

My photos show Seduce the Drawbridge in 3 coats plus top coat. I had very obvious VNL with this polish. I couldn’t decide what color I wanted to pair it with as a topper. In my live swatch video I ended up pairing it with a navy blue and just wow. It looks really really impressive.

Skelly Mans

Description: a sheer pastel multichrome that shifts from lilac to green with black to blue multichrome flakes. This polish *may* glow-in-the-dark after exposure to strong lighting
Price: $13.50

Skelly Mans had a beautiful formula. This polish starts out *very* sheer so you will want to build it up for opacity or use it as a topper. The multichrome was as described.

The flakies all spread out very evenly and easily without giving off any texture. I really liked how the flakies paired with the multichrome base. The brand does note that this polish *might* glow in the dark after exposure to strong lighting. I wasn’t able to get it to glow for my swatches. I could see the bottle glow when I exposed it to a blacklight but I couldn’t get it to glow on the nail.

My photos show Skelly Mans in 3 coats plus top coat. I also swatched it in 1 coat over a darkteal creme (Mischief by Night Owl Lacquer).

The Dragonlord

Description: a violet jelly with orange to red multichrome flakes and holo flakes (the same finish as Save the Pupfish)
Price: $13.50

The Dragonlord had a fantastic formula. The flakies all spread out very evenly without giving off any texture. The holo flakies are very holographic.

This is another polish that I thought was going to stain but ended up not staining me.

My photos show The Dragonlord in 3 coats plus both glossy and matte top coat. I think this will likely be a solid 3 coater to get the color you see in the bottle.

Zygaxis

Description: an almost neon red polish with gold to green to blue shimmer
Price: $13.50

Zygaxis had a beautiful formula. The base color on this is a BRIGHT red that due to the gold shimmer leans very orangey. I ended up color correcting my photos a bit to better show the red base.

The shimmer was very color shifty and was as described. I didn’t see any brush strokes through it. The base is on the more sheer side so you will really want to build this one up for opacity.

My photos show Zygaxis in 3 coats plus top coat. While I personally LOVE this polish as is, I think it would look really cool as a topper too.

Final Thoughts

Overall I really liked this collection. I liked that there were a variety of finishes as well as colors. The shimmers stood out to me the most but that’s just my personal preference towards shifty shimmers.

My top picks are going to the Zygaxis and Punchomancy with Crit Happens getting an honorable mention.

  3. The True Bride – amethyst with light reflective glitter
  4. I Chose Myself – magenta with amethyst light reflective glitter
  5. The Dragon and the Magpie – cobalt blue with light reflective glitter
  6. Nothing In This World Is Freely Given – burnt orange with light reflective glitter
  7. You Make Me Believe in Wonders – emerald green light reflective glitter
  8. The Goddess of Moon and Memory – peridot with light reflective glitter
  9. Wait For Me Where the Land Meets the Sea – turquoise with aqua light reflective glitter

The Goddess of Moon and Memory

The Goddess of Moon and Memory had a really great formula. The base felt on the thicker side but along the thickness of the other reflective glitters by this brand. I didn’t have any issues with the application.

I found the base color to lean somewhere between peridot and chartreuse. The reflective glitters seemed to either be silver or a similar color to the base. They gave the polish quite a bit of texture.

My photos show The Goddess of Moon and Memory in 3 coats plus 2 coats of top coat. I found in 2 coats the base color was a little uneven so I added a *very* thin third coat to even it out. Removal will be messy/difficult if you scrub it off.

The True Bride

The True Bride had the exact same formula and application as the previous mystery polish. The purple base was on the darker side but not so dark that it would appear black.

My photos show The True Bride in 3 coats plus 2 coats of top coat.. I used 2 normal coats and 1 *very* thin third coat to even out the base color.
