Hey friends! I have quite a few blog posts going up today and the first one is for some upcoming mystery polishes that Bee’s Knees is coming out with. For July the mystery bags are themed after the book Six Crimson Cranes. All of the polishes have both ghost flakies and light reflective glitters.
These mystery bags will be available starting on July 29th on the Bee’s Knees website and their international stockist pages. As per usual, I will have links and more info at the end of this post. But just know, by scrolling you will be spoiled on what the polishes look like!

I Would Wish Your Strand Knotted To Mine, Always
Description: a rich red with red to green ghost flakes and ruby light reflective glitter
Price: $14
I Would Wish Your Strand Knotted To Mine, Always have a fantastic formula. It was slightly on the thicker side but still very easy to apply. This one applies very much like a jelly polish, so you will definitely want to build it up for the most opacity however it is still a bit on the sheer side even in three coats.
The flakies and glitters all spread out very nicely. I found the reflective glitters were very sparkly out in the sun. Indoors, I saw really pretty twinkles of silver. To be honest, I am undecided on if I was seeing red reflects or if they just looked red due to the base color. I think if I didn’t know the reflective glitters were red, I would have assumed that the red I was seeing was due to the base color.
My photos show I Would Wish Your Strand Knotted To Mine, Always in 3 coats plus 2 coats of top coat. The reflective glitters do give this one some texture so you will want to double up on top coat. Pairing reflective glitters with a glitter smoothing top coat will give you the smoothest finish. I used the KBShimmer Smooth Moves top coat.
Removal will be on the more difficult side if you opt to scrub this polish off. I used a peel off base coat. I didn’t have any issues with staining.
The Blood of the Stars
Description: a blackened blue base with red to green ghost flakes and sapphire light reflective glitter
Price: $14
The Blood of the Stars had a great formula. It was *slightly* thicker than the previous polish but I still found it easy to apply. I did notice that when I went to do my live swatches it seemed like it thickened up from what I remembered from when I was doing my swatch photos.
The base is very jelly, so it is easy to see the ghost flakies and the reflective glitters. Out in the sunlight, I could see both the silver and blue reflects. The reflective glitter does give this polish significant texture so you will
My photos show The Blood of the Stars in 3 coats plus 2 coats of top coat. Like the previous polish, I did have some VNL with this one. It was a bit more opaque than I Would Wish Your Strand Knotted To Mine, Always but out in direct light, it was very noticeable.
Removal will be on the more difficult side if you try to scrub this polish off. I didn’t have any issues with staining.
