Bee’s Knees Lacquer 4th Anniversary | Fear Street Collection

[Paid PR – Post Disclosure Page]

Today’s blog post is for the 4th anniversary collection by Bee’s Knees Lacquer. This year, the collection is inspired by the book and Netflix series, Fear Street. The Fear Street collection launches on September 24th. There will also be a HUGE site wide sale to celebrate!

This collection is a continuation of the other Fear Street polishes that were released earlier this month.

As always full sale details, comparisons, and links will be at the end of the post. For my swatches, I used the Bee’s Knees Lacquer top coat, Vapid’s Commitment Issues peel off base coat, and the Heather’s Hues 1st Base base coat to prevent staining.

Camp Nightwing

Description: a mid-toned purple with lime green to blue shimmer
Price: $12

Camp Nightwing had a really great formula. The base didn’t feel overly thick or thin, it had a perfect consistency. This is one of the BKL shimmer polishes where the shimmer is so strong that

This polish will be a 2-3 coater depending on thickness of coats. I used 2 coats for all of my nails except for the ring finger where I did 3 coats. I feel like I can see a *slight* difference in the depth of color in my photos but in person, I wasn’t seeing a real difference in color depth.

Note: I had some very slight staining with this polish on parts of my hard gel overlay. The staining disappeared after scrubbing with acetone.

Dark Secrets

Description: a blackened olive polish with silver to blue iridescent flakes
Price: $12

Dark Secrets had a great jelly formula. The base color for this is a very dark green. To my eyes, it was more of a dark forest green than olive. This polish is on the more sheer side so you will want to build it up for the best opacity.

The flakes in this vary in size, I had a few larger sized ones come out on the nail. Which is probably my favorite thing about flakie polishes. The flakes all dry down flat. However, this polish does dry dull so you will want top coat for a glossy finish.

I used 3 coats for my photos. This polish won’t be difficult to remove.

Full Moon Rises Before Nightfall

Description: a blue to purple pastel multichrome full of ruby red flakes
Price: $13

Full Moon Rises Before Nightfall had a fantastic formula. This polish is SO incredibly beautiful in person! I have never seen a polish quite like this before and it’s really something! The multichrome is very color shifty. In person, I was seeing a cyan to blue to purple color shift.

The flakes all spread out evenly and easily without drying textured. This had pretty good coverage in 2 coats. I had a *tiny* bit of VNL so I used 3 coats for my photos. For personal wear, I would wear this in 2 coats.

I was kinda curious about how this would look over black so I also swatched this in 1 coat over a black creme. Nothing in this polish will be overly difficult to remove but the flakies will make a mess if you choose to scrub it off.

Goode and Evil

Description: a burnt orange polish full of glowy gold iridescent flakes
Price: $12

Goode And Evil also had a great formula. The base is not quite a pumpkin orange but on the nail it (to me) isn’t a brown leaning as a typical burnt orange shade. The flakies in this have a beautiful sparkle to them. They dry down flat so they shouldn’t be overly difficult to remove.

I used 3 coats for my photos. This polish is on the sheer side so you will have VNL with this polish.

I Am No Lamb

Description: a rose gold to green pastel multichrome full of sapphire blue flakes
Price: $13

I Am No Lamb had a wonderful formula. The flakies in this are so beautiful! They make the polish look very blue toned. I found the multichrome base is color shifty, in person I was seeing a gold to green shift. The flakes didn’t dry textured on me.

I used 2 coats for my photos. Longer nails will likely want to use 3 coats. Nothing in here will be difficult to remove or feel textured but you will want top coat for a glossy finish.

She’ll Follow You Until You’re Dead

Description: a mustard olive (molive) full of OG UP (red to green)
Price: $15

She’ll Follow You Until You’re Dead had a great jelly formula. This polish is going to be for my fellow prugly (pretty ugly) polish lovers! The unicorn pee shimmer looks so pretty in this base! I was seeing the UP color shifts very easily in it. The base is a mustard yellow with a hint of olive green.

This polish will likely be a 3 coater on pretty much everyone. I had some very obvious VNL in 2 coats. It goes on very evenly so if you don’t mind VNL, you could definitely get away with 2 coats.

She Reaches From Beyond the Grave

Description: a blackened indigo full of green to blue sibling UP
Price: $15

She Reaches From Beyond the Grave had a gorgeous buttery smooth formula. The shimmer is very strong and shifts from green to teal to a vibrant blue. I found that the shimmer makes the base look even more blue toned.

In 2 coats this had pretty good coverage but not quite the deep color I was seeing in the bottle. I used 3 coats for my photos. This polish is very pigmented so be sure to wear base coat to prevent staining.

The Fruits of the Land

Description: a pink to red pastel multichrome full of emerald green flakes
Price: $13

The Fruits of the Land had a fantastic formula. It had the same formula and application as Full Moon Rises Before Nightfall. I was seeing all of the described colors in person. I found the flakes in this look like a seafoam green shade.

They don’t overshadow the multichrome shimmer but I feel like the polish gets its coloring from the flakes and then you get a shift shimmer effect from the multichrome.

I used 3 coats for my photos. I didn’t get any texture from the flakes but this down dry down a little dull so you will want top coat.

Note: This polish stained my gel overlay a reddish pink. My natural nails weren’t stained.

The Witch Made Me Do It

Description: a pea green polish with glowy green iridescent flakes
Price: $12

The Witch Made Me Do It had a fantastic jelly formula. It didn’t feel overly thick at all despite having so many flakies in it. I found in the bottle, it looks a lot more pea green than it does on the nail. On the nail, it looks a lot more yellow with green undertones. The flakes all spread out evenly without giving off texture.

This polish is on the sheer side so you will have obvious VNL with it. My photos show it in 3 coats on its own. On my thumb, I swatched it in 3 coats over a blurring base. Nothing in here will be difficult to remove and I didn’t experience any staining.

We’re All Cursed

Description: a dusty purple with aqua to purple shimmer
Price: $12

We’re All Cursed had a great formula. This is one of the more opaque polishes in this release. The base color is a warm dusty medium purple. The shimmer in this is very strong. I was seeing both of the described colors in person.

I swatched this polish in 2 coats. I feel like it looks a little sheer in my photos so I think this will be a 2-3 coater depending on personal preference.

You Were My Monster

Description: a taupe polish with rich indigo to purple shimmer
Price: $12

You Were My Monster also had a fantastic formula. I found this has a very slight greenish undertone to it. I’m not sure if it’s the base color or just how the base plays with the shimmer but it gives me some Halloween-y vibes. The shimmer is strong and doesn’t show brush strokes.

My photos show You Were My Monster in 3 coats. I had very slight VNL in 2 coats. For personal wear, I would wear this in 2 coats. Nothing in here will be difficult to remove and I didn’t experience any staining.

Comparisons

Bathsheba vs She’ll Follow You Until You’re Dead

I recently purchased Bathsheba so I really wanted to compare it to She’ll Follow You Until You’re Dead. They’re not dupes by any means but since they both have unicorn pee in them I wanted to see them side by side.

The Mask vs Don’t Go to Sleep vs Camp Nightwing

So I went through my Bee’s Knees drawers and the most similar polishes to Camp Nightwing were, The Mask (from the A Court Of Silver Flames Part 1 collection, reviewed here) and. Don’t Go To Sleep (from the April 2021 PPU reviewed here)

She Reaches From Beyond The Grave vs Nahele vs For Texas

Nahele was released earlier this year in Hella Handmade Creations for their anniversary. For Texas was also released earlier this year as a charity polish.
